  • Whales do this to hunt, not communicate with people. They do this to surface schools of fish, and then eat the fish as they breach the surface.

  • In this case, he is not doing this to hunt or trap fish. I've never seen this type of bubble ring used to trap fish, only during close approaches to boats.

Humpbacks are very complex animals and do many things for perhaps various reasons.

  • Does Thorn do this just near boats or all the time? Is he just having fun, playing a game? Does he like the cheers

  • He has only been seen doing this near boats, never from spotting planes. We don't know why he does this, we are just glad that he does it.

  • I did not realize the Japs were killing humpbacks also. Those people are hell bent to eat every dam thing on the planet. Maybe it's time to really get the movement rolling? Japs are easily shamed and our politicians like voters.

  • @2guys1diet your comment did not make any sense to me... What does having a hideous face have to do with whaling? There are what they are because of themselves.

  • aminha é no aquario

  • @mia2113mark There is a loop hole in the whaling laws that allows the killing of whales for research. However, in my opinion (and most of the world's) that what Japan is doing is in violation. They kill whales, do a few quick things like look at stomach contents, then process the whale into meat, fertilizer and pet food.

  • That is way AWESOME!

  • love to be just above it

  • w0w amazing

  • why do people like that because we can do that to except smaller

  • when he dose this the people screech loud enough for the whale to heat them. i think thats y

  • @brutalnessities1 yes BUT they don't just catch one tuna do they? and there's a HELL OF A LOT MORE TUNA then there are whales, and the reason is that THEY ARE MEANT TO BE PREY. whales are predators. they are not meant to be preyed upon. their numbers decline NATURALLY when they're is a scarcity of food. which we contribute to. take the predator out, and there will be too much tuna, the tuna will over-eat other species, and a huge domino effect ensues, ending with the extinction of many species.
