So I filmed something a little different for all y'all while I wait for my Project Dwarfs Day 4 video to render.

It's an unbooking/review of the Uniforms and Heraldry book for the Skaven army. Sorry for all you ratman fans out there, but it might be as far as I get until Project Dwarfs is finished =D

  • I actually like the artwork a lot. It reminds me of the way Imperial Armor books look. All hand drawn diagrams. It doesn't focus so much on the minis as it does the color pallets. I do agree though that some pics of minis would be nice.

  • @Brush4Hire I totally agree, the hand drawn diagrams are nice, I just wish they didn't look so similar. It's like someone took the same template and just changed the colors. And you can't even tell what it would look like on the actual model, I agree, they don't all have to be 'eavy metal standard or in a big section, but a couple pics to demonstrate how the colors look on actual minis would seal the deal for a lot of folk, I think. Thanks for the feedback!

  • Love the review!

Never occurred to me that it would be handy to show actual models modified and painted. Good angle! I merely saw the book as fluff and a book of inspiration on how to approach your Skaven Armies, but you've opened my eyes and I agree on what you say here! =)

  • @bazZy33K Thanks for the feedback! I hope they continue to come out with the Uniforms and Heraldry books, I just hope they can add a little more for the hobbyist. That's what will sell the most models, I think =D

  • That fits. :)

Got yesterday my Island of Blood Box and started to work on some Skaven.

I like this book and will purchase it sometimes. Personally its ok to have just artworks. This IMO animates to more own creativity.

  • @HaWior Island of Blood is terrific for Skaven!

I agree, as a collector I'm very happy with the book, I just wish there was more to it. I'm glad it can animate your creativity, best of luck with your Skaven!

  • You're right, they really needed to include photos of painted and converted figures and models to go long with the art, other then that, a nice idea for something to use with the Army books.

  • @WarbossTae Ahh the crons...well mine are metallic green with rust! Swampy type necrons :)

  • @TheMadwizz Indeed!

  • @KainTLA I agree, GW should do more books like this. I'd love to see one on Orcs and Goblins, Brettonia, and Vampire Counts!

Thanks, haha, oh well,I think I took up Girlpainting's challenge just to motivate myself to get as much tutorials out as I could, and I had a good time, so I don't mind not making it to the finals =)

I actually haven't gone mad with binary code for the Necrons. I just can't imagine doing anything with it other than drybrushing silver and detailing some color spots =/
