  • I like this performances of Bachs music. Karl Richter is the only one, the right, to show us Bachs spirit. So Bachs cantatas come to their beginning. Crying!

  • @KERNWER - With one exception - just one exception!... - the only Bach performances which have moved me to tears to this day are those conducted by the late (and great) Karl Richter. The exception is 'St. Matthews Passion' (BWV 244) conducted by Enoch zu Guttenberg in 1990, with Claes-Håkan Ahnsjö as the Evangelist and Hermann Prey as Jesus (DVD currently unavailable on the market).

  • Karl Richter and Bach is the complete consent. Their is nothing to go fiurther.

Do you know Mitsuko Uchida and her performances of Mozart? It`s the same, it is a very sensitive performance. Clara Haskil or Dinu Lipatti another ones. I feel like an angel.
