  • @astronomicat Yeah, I got a 2 :P

  • Oh god. My part is in alto clef. I'm screwed. This is going to be fun though.

  • @Ninjasticks Actually, once you've gotten to the point where you truly have control over your instrument, it's okay to move. Also, when you're in a small ensemble with no conductor, it's a good idea to move because it helps establish pulse among the ensemble. Dr. Bowman told me that. That's right. Dr. freakin' Bowman.

  • What clef is this in?

  • @ninjasticks do you have any idea who you are talking about? David Taylor gets to move as much as he damn well pleases.

  • Because movement interferes with your ability to produce a quality sound. It is a bad habit to get into and is detrimental to learning proper posture which will ultimately lead to producing great sound easiest. Also, it is a distraction.

  • If I can get my friend to double tongue, I am so doing this for solo and ensemble.

  • i dont know, it is a little distracting

  • why would you ask for less movement when performing such a beautiful piece? Music and dance are one in the same. I take it you don't much enjoy opera or theater

  • great playing but if they didn't move so much i could listen better
