  • i bought the craftsman set when they first came out and i would like my money back, however sometimes they do work. This grabit looks pretty good but dont have the money to try them right now. Did you ever get them ?

  • @therockkkkher

No, I sent my name and address, but they never arrived!

  • Have you tried testing The Grabit? It was also advertised on TV by Billy Mays (before he died) and we now sell them online at theGrabitStore - they work great and are guaranteed for life with a free replacement.

  • @TheGrabit

No, I have not tried one.

If you send me one I'll test it for you ;-)

  • set it on a lower speed

  • See under "Gebrauchsmuster Nr: 296 16 972.2 " in the german patentregister.

You wil find the one who came on the idee to make a screwremover (give in

"Schaubenlinksausdreher" . Do the same as in the drawings is made with your bits.

It will work better as this modified version of it. I wrote "Askthebuilder" he said ,he´s is the developer before Billy Mays made it. (See the question of @plugslee) he toold that he was copied. The idee was to remove sealed windows from a F-27 Aircraft.

  • The drill being used to extract has too high of an RPM setting. Looks like it's not a variable. Extractors are usually used with a slow turn so it digs into the head of the screw but doesn't do so so fast that it slices off too much material and just becomes a drillbit instead of an extractor.

  • @TheDeckingnsw

Yes I have tried the threaded screw extractors at work, sometimes they work but on a really stubborn stud they do not work, that is when the welder and a nut come in handy. I think the heat generated during welding helps to loosen the bond between the threads!

  • @ultimatehandyman thats a great idea makes me wanna take my welder to work every day.

on a side note have to seen the treaded extractor bits

  • bought one of these sets myself... Then binned it (was rubbish)

Found it better to use my Makita Impact driver.
