That's just cool - still writing and playing great songs, still playing his Hofner bass (is there a more famous guitar in the world?), still rocking like a man 30 years younger.
I can't help but wonder what "Sing the Changes" could have been as a Beatles song - with counterpoint lyrics from John, lead guitar by George, those unique vocal harmonies behind Paul, and Ringo's distinctive tomtom beats. Might've been a classic.
Wow, I like that last song (his new one) a real anthem sounded glorious for NY! I understand that Mac was in NY on 9/11/2001 said he was on an airplane unable to take off as the towers were burning, I think this Firemen album is a kind of tribute to those men who were lost on that terrible day.
