It's funny you should ask that because the earliest noodles were found in China!! In 2005 archeologists found 4,000 year old noodles in Quinghai, China. They were first made of foxtail and broomcorn mullet. It wasn't until 300 C.E that the Chinese made noodles from a whole grain wheat paste. Some historians think the Sicilian word "maccaruni" which translates as "made into a dough by force" is the origin of our word, macaroni.

Also, many words sound alike in german, and english.

The thing with german words in generally is, that they aren't like 'long thing=noodle', they're just nudel, which isn't a conclusion of any words, but just a word by itself, if you get me ( I know it's hard to follow a dumbass like me :P).Unlike in the chinese language, where everything, or nearly everything, is named by two descibing words(as far as I'm concerned)if you get me ( I know it's hard to follow a dumbass like me :P). So there isn't any origin of that word :/

Actually it is quite easy to follow you. However, Germans seem complicate, you know what I mean.

Thank you for sharing this video. In german, it does not mean anything else, than every kind of noodle. If you say nudel, that people will know, what you mean, but the word itself has no real meaning. At least not to me
