Hakeemullah Mehsud has been named the new leader of Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan, the successor to Baitullah Mehsud. The announcement counters reports that suggested that Hakeemullah was killed in a duel with a rival claimant to Baitullah's crown a few days back.
