First, I must say I love the style I try to make my kicks straight because kicks are much harder to swing quickly through when they're bent so they are harder to pull back in the roda which is basically an invitation to get my ass swept but bent kicks are a lot more effective(more torque)

not all the time. hate to be the barrier of bad news.. but watch the most advanced.. playing regional. their legs dont go back after an armada... they form combinations , dont be a hater

Those kicks comes from taekwondo or karate, i think u must forget those techniques to undertsand why of capoeira moves and kicks.
