If guys treated girls like Gomer treats Lou Ann, and girls let guys be the important man Gomer says he likes being, I think there would be a lot more happy relationships. He's so sweet.

In the real world, Gomer would have been better off with Corporal Carol. Gomer and Carols personality seemed to be a more suitable match. Louann was very nice but in real life, she would have been a drain on Gomer financially and emotionally. She was a failed singer and she would have ultimately been unhappy with where she landed in life. Of course, this is tv, so they sugar coat it. In all of these episodes, Louann never once paid the check for dinner or movie. Malik Jubal
