Deep, soul-searching, and highly intellectual, his body language reveals just how haunted he is. Not just another shallow, self-absorbed rock star, this guy knows the deal, is very well traveled, and has friends all over the world. Interesting character. The other side of him is a hard drinking, practical joke playing wild man. I consider his lyrics to be on the level with Bob Dylan.

@AWGMJANS Its not "the Philosophers' who really teach you ANYTHING . Just like a million pissant uni students grappling with the complexities of any given philosopher ....its really only until what you ,yourself, come to understand through bitter hard learnt lessons that truly matter and resonate. i am staggered ,no, STAGGERED at this interview - ian always seemed so happy go lucky , funny , light hearted ...but here- not only does he sound ponderous and depressed - he looks it too . Thats not to say there is no merit in his comments , its just strange to see a side of a person you admired since the 70s . i suppose his lyrics always suggested that he was deeper than his persona - but to have it confirmed - by himself no less= AMAZING !
