  • I have the slightly bigger brother to your gun, the S&W 1006, and I find that it really prefers full power loads, and that is exactly how I handload mine, and those expensive Glasers may be unpredictable for that reason, given the unusually light weight of the slugs.

My suggestion for home defense would be to find ammo loaded with the excellent 155 grain Speer Gold Dot hollowpoint.

180 grain and heavier bullets in this potent round are much more likely to overpenetrate.

  • @PinkOld Thanks for the advice, Ill have to look for some of that ammo to try out. The Hornady stuff ive been using works pretty well. I also have some hotter Doubletap ammo that I seem to shoot more accurately with.

  • S&W should bring this pistol series back, just in a double stack configuration (to compete with the Glock 20, which is a 15-shot model).

  • @Mazryonh Agreed, That would be awesome.

  • I want the one with the sig-style decocker. I think that was the 1076 but I'm not sure.

  • @RockawayCCW You should get one, They are great guns and I dont think they get enough credit.

  • @kg9pz Thanks, I really would like to try the 4506. They look awesome.

  • @RockawayCCW Yes I beilive it was the 1076 and 1026 that came with the frame mounted saftey.

  • Sweet S&W! I've never found the trigger on my 4505 to be all that nice either.

  • NICE! I've always like this series of pistols from S&W. The double stackers are too big for my hand, but I think I can handle the single stackers.

Looking forward to the range/shooting video, bro.
