This should be out song in the european championships 2012 imagine all the English fans singing this with Stuart pearce in charge what a lift it would give the team and fans makes the hair on the back of my neck stand on end come on England woop woop
-
This definitely should be the English national Anthem. Written by an Englishman, music by an Englishman. It is English through and through.

Pet Shop Boys can do no wrong!

@votingprawn As a Secular Humanist... I have to say I dont like the massive Religious overtones of the orginal song Jerusalem. But still I feel it would be better than God Save the Queen. We need an anthem which reflects the nation.

Don't quite get this but I'm not from England ...

this remix kicks so much ass

Why? The lines are from a poem by William Blake. He wrote it in early 19th century when England, at least the north of England was being covered by 'dark satanic mills' of the industrial revolution. I think the poem has something to do with the legend of Christ coming to England. Does it matter? It is a wonderful song - good old England - I love you.

Does anyone know where I can download this for my Ipod. Can't find it on Itunes
Jesus supported Talking Heads in 1983 when I saw them in Sheffield. He was alright - relied a bit too much on old material from what I remember - fish/loaves etc.

"And did those feet in ancient time, walk upon England's mountains green?"
Sounds like a question to me, not a statement of anyone being in England.
