Prejudice: The Roots of Discrimination may be Deeper than We Think

What does it mean to say that someone is prejudiced? Are things like racial prejudice or sexism a thing of the past?

Research in social psychology shows that prejudice is much more than thinking negative thoughts or treating people from other groups badly. Prejudice can also be found in our unconscious thoughts and feelings, and can leak out in our unintended actions.

The way that we think about ourselves and our own groups can also create and maintain prejudice and discrimination against others.

While alarming and disappointing to people who do not want to believe they are prejudiced, these new ways of recognizing and understanding prejudice also offer important insights into how we can combat it and reduce inequality.

What does this experiment this guy talks about have to do with "prejudice"? I mean talk about searching as hard as you can for your desired result. This is such bull its not even funny. Like i said, this man wouldnt have a job if he couldnt find bigotry in..lets face it..white people. Go get a real job "professor" wright...and let people think and live as they want. Mr. Wright isnt aware he is demonizing white people. hahaha!

This guy is saying that if you don't express respect, admiration, and compassion for a group you don't belong to you are subconsciously a bigot. I suppose that means that if you dont express those things ALSO for the group you belong to, than you must be a bigot toward yourself. Basically, because people like this guy and the race baiting poverty pimps in culture NEED racial strife to remain relevant, they have now switched to telling you that you are so racist you dont even know it. haha! wow.

@djlouilove Dont worry about it, in the world of leftist hypocrisy its not just okay to prejudice against republicans you may even get a job at "good" university if you agree to attack white people as being the root of all prejudice and people of color as nothing more than poor little victims even when the violently attack people different from themselves. Seriously. Try it sometime.
