Knoxville Cystic Fibrosis Foundation Studio 54 Gala REVISED

What became the hottest ticket in town is celebrating its second year of success on Saturday, February 21, 2009, from 7-11 p.m. at The Valarium with Martinis & Movies: Studio 54 Gala, benefiting the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation. Taking place the evening before the annual Academy Awards, this movie-themed gala centers around the 70s disco era and New York Citys legendary Studio 54 nightclub as portrayed in the 1998 movie 54 starring Ryan Phillippe and Salma Hayek.

In 1977, Studio 54 opened in New York City, ushering in the era of disco and the exclusive nightclub. A tribute to glitz and glam, Studio 54 was frequented by the top entertainers, actors, authors, artists, and fashion moguls of the day including John Travolta, Elizabeth Taylor, John Lennon, Michael Jackson, Truman Capote, Andy Warhol, Calvin Klein, Hugh Hefner, Diane von Furstenberg and Jackie Onassis, among many others.

The Knoxville Chapter of the Cystic Fibrosis Foundations Young Professional Leadership Committee will be transforming The Valarium into the famed Studio 54. Gala guests will enjoy a walk down the red carpet complete with paparazzi taking photos, open bar of beer, wine and a signature martini created by Sapphire, heavy hors doeuvres, silent and live auctions, dancing to the most popular songs of the Studio 54 era, a fashion show and live entertainment. For the lucky few to secure a spot in the VIP area, they will be treated to valet parking, a separate VIP entrance, an exclusive upstairs balcony area with ample seating, heavy hors doeuvres and full open bar.

In keeping with Studio 54s strict door policy - only the best dressed of New York Citys elite gained entrance to the nightclub Martinis & Movies: Studio 54 Gala attire will be red carpet ready or 70s chic if you dare.
