Food Stamp President(s) - Oh SNAP!

February 8, 2012 - Congressman Luis Gutierrez (D-IL) came to the House Floor to respond to Newt Gingrich, who has begun calling President Obama the "Food Stamp President." Armed with facts, the Congressman has a little fun setting the record straight and despite the name calling, he concludes that "hunger knows no race or religion or age or political party. Hunger is colorblind."

Getting a drug test is not being treated like a criminal, evident by how many employers require drug screening before they hire you. Ya know, for that thing called a "job". Hell I'd give the drug test for FREE. If you can afford drugs, you can afford food. If you can afford alcohol, you can afford food. Unless I miss my guess most of these people don't want drug screening, because they are using them. And enablers like you want them to continue to abuse the system, and waste their life.

FACT: There are record numbers on food stamps because there are record numbers of Americans in poverty. As of 2011 there were 46.2 million men, women & children lived below the US poverty line & it's only gotten worse.

Treating the poor like criminals by forcing them to take $250 drug tests is idiotic & fiscally irresponsible.
