This is confusing. This is low light as seen through a digital camera using near infrared lighting from LEDs to illuminate the room so the camera can see. Near infrared is the light your remote uses to send signals to the TV, Far infrared is different. It is the heat you feel from the sun or a fire. It is also used to form a picture and the devices are called FLIR IR cameras. They are the ones on helicopters, military, police and fire units. They can see through fog, smoke and other obstacles.
