According to a great finnish conductor and teacher Jorma Panula one of the most important things is not to disturb the orchestra! When it's going well, so let it flow.
He said also to us playing in the orchestra: dont mind this gesture, it's only for the audience.

He is very candid..., and humorous.

@mecrius ha detto "passage". He is truly inspiring, and yes very italian too.

@johnstubbs52 can you send me a copy too?
-
@johnstubbs52 Hi! can you send me the complete work? thank you!
-
He is absolutely correct.. The conductor is just there to give interpretation, keep everyone together and many times the conductor is the worst musician in the room

at the 0:20 ''E' molto importante questo This fraseggio From...'' ahahah he is too much italian!!! Grande Muti !!!

It's just an impression, I don't know him personally. Of course there is no doubt about hi professionalism!

@maxbigazzi I thought it was the opposite of snobbery. He was humbling himself in comparison to the task set upon the orchestra. Perhaps his tone is didactic, but that's because he teaching a lesson.
