  • Steamtown is still restoring her right or have they stopped for now because of the 15 year for the 2317.

  • modeltrainman12345 , all steamtown did to 759 was to removed the Asbestos Abatement and put new sheet metal on it. then come spring they repaint it.

  • What happened to this engine?

  • In a perfect world, all eastern class 1's would permit steam on their tracks for long fantrips and Steamtown would restore 759 and run excursions to Binghamton, Sunbury on a regular basis.

  • @rwk360 It's looking good for the 587 to be returning within another two years or so, and the 763 might be on the road to a overhaul soon as well. Meanwhile, the 759 will just sit until Steamtown gets some money to repair it and/or finds a reason to use it.

  • Great thanks for film!

  • @rwk360 The T-1s are significantly bigger than the Berks

  • Why couldn't 2102 be turned on the turntable at Jim Thorpe when it ran excursions to there via Allentown from Temple in Sept 1985, fall 1987, and 1988? #759 was turned there as seen here, and so was #425 more recently.

  • The only NKP is running now is #765 in Fort Wayne, IN. It currently travels around to pull excursions on shortlines and regional railroads (Hopefully NS will let it run excursions on it's tracks in the future) . It did run in NJ and PA in 1988 on the trips from Bound Brook, NJ to Temple, PA and Bound Brook to Philly, Reading, and back to Bound Brook through Allentown, Bethlehem, Easton, Phillipsburg.

  • Nice video of NKP 759. Wish she could run again. Oh well one day she will I believe.

  • Great stuff Len! I sure wish I had vintage steam footage from the 60's and 70's. Thanks for sharing!
