My old 10g planted freshwater that used to house 1 guppy and a guppy fry, 6 neon tetras, 8 ghost shrimp and 2 bamboo shrimp. Pool filter sand substrate.

  • Do u have to cycle the fish tank?

  • @graphicmangagrrl ALWAYS cycle a fish tank, especially if you are going to have invertebrates. They are very sensitive to water parameters and will be the first to die if the tank is not well established.

  • Hi, i have glowlight and neon tetras, and ghost shrimp. Im sick of my black gravel and i really like the way your pool filter sand looks, i wanna try it. Do the tetras or shrimp mind it? Because Petsmart Employe told me that tetras should have dark gravel or else they get stressed.

  • @xbr0k3nhal0x Generally speaking, Petsmart employees are idiots when it comes to good advice. Your tetras will be fine. If you think they are stressed, buy a decor background sheet and put it on the back of the tank and they'll do great :) The black gravel, I think, is painted, which, in the long run, is unsafe.

  • @f1shbone Ok thanks! right now they are in a temp tank, but im upgrading to a 29 gallon. I plan on using pool filter sand and painting the back of the tank black. I also have a big piece of driftwood for them to play in :)

  • @xbr0k3nhal0x Good luck :)

  • A little before 0:51 is the banana plant.

  • The strange green thing in the center of the screen at 0:51 is the roots from an aquatic banana plant. Very easy to grow.

  • one of my tetra died i am sad

  • Do you have to test the pH level ? because i heard some fish are suppose to have a certaint pH water level , is a pH water level important to check ?

  • nice fishes , continue :)
