MMA is going through another evolution right now. People were too quick to discard TKD, Karate, Kung fu etc techniques after several practitioners competed poorly against grapplers and Muay Thai fighters in the early UFC's. Subsequently, everyone went to BJJ, Wrestling, Sambo, Judo, MT and boxing and shunned the rest. Now we have KO's from a variety of techniques, such as Barboza's spin kick, to Machida's simple jumping front kick on Couture to back kicks, spinning backfists etc. This is good.
