I love it so much to hear the audience in the background...singing and humming this wonderful song!!! A German audience would try to clap hands all of the time and this is destroying every song!!! I´ve been deeply impressed seeing Eric & John in Saltburn 2009!! Lovely guys, kind and friendly! And wonderful singers and sonwriters!!! Thanks so much for sharing this stunning video!!!!! Thanks so much!!!! hugs!

Eric Bogle, What a writer... many associate this song and The Band Played W'Matilda with the Fureys, Pogues, the men the couldn't hang + others. Both songs tell the story of the reality of a bloody war. God Rest Harry Patch; he was (possibly) our last living link with WW1 and a man who chose not to talk about the reality of this war until he was 100..
