Alcune bellissime immagini del caccia intercettore che prestò servizio alla U.S NAVY dagli anni 70 fino al 2006, l'F-14 Tomcat.
Questo video è un tributo al Tomcat che ha fatto sognare due generazioni di appassionati dell'aviazione militare.
Si ricorderà il Tomcat così come vogliamo ricordarlo: mentre schizza verso il cielo oltre il ponte di volo con i postbruciatori accesi.

As a former Mech on the F-14. It was tough to work on, but it was a BAD ASS BIRD!! There will never be anything with the same mystique as the TOMCAT!!!

@BBEEAANN1, wrong, cost is everything in the military. I maintained these planes for 8 years inside and out. The thought that every part of the plane is paid for is insane. Trust me, every part I ordered had a dollar figure attached. A models did require more time then B and D however, bottom line, maintenance cost is what doomed the Tomcat. Those maintenance hours you are referring to cost the Navy in the personal to perform them.

There were no difficulties with the plane.. Just maintenance costs, plain and simple we have to repair our planes in the navy not buy new ones like other un-named services

There is a reason why the F-15 didn't replace the F-14. The F-14 out performed the F-15 in real world testing. I remember talking to the pilots of my squadron about it and they said the F-18 was the only plane to show better overall performance. 20 years after that conversation it was the F-18 that did replace the F-14. Sorry F-15 fans, its a good plane, but it aint better than a Tomcat.
