I would think it could work

I wonder... Could the cutting board be sanded with fine grit to smooth out the surface for a better seal?
-
K, I know this is going to sound like a stupid question, but what is the function of the neutral plates? Not having to connect every other plate would be nice. But if they are not connected how do you get production out of the neutral plates?

Thanks, I've already made some modifications that fixed the problem.
I made the cell vertical, mounted the bottle on top, and removed the bottom port.
Now it works much better.

vertical will work if the bubbler its higher 25cm from the cell.
-
i like how you mounted the water/container above the drycell... nice nice

I agree, I'd rather have a vertical cell, but I had issues with the water refill when I tried to run it vertical. So, that is why I redesigned it to work on its side.
I guess I just went for the easiest solution. Maybe when I have more time I will revisit the vertical design and work out the bugs.
Even though I'm sacrificing some surface area, I dont' think it will limit the cell very much.
lenthin that short hose and it could become virticle again.

That's how I had it before, but it didn't work good.
