This was produced, written and made in New York in 1991, I believe. One year before Benny Hill's death.

FYI. Did you know that Benny lived with his mother until six months before he died? She died six months before he did. They lived in a two storey flat, but he never used the second floor. He died of a heart attack on April 20, 1992. A friend found Benny Hill on the floor dead and asked the EMS if he could fix his Benny's hair because Benny Hill always had nice hair in public.

@thebennyhillchannel You need to check your facts. His mother died in 1976, and he died in a rented apartment. He kept the home after his mother died but did not live there, it was more of a shrine in her memory. 1992 February 24 his doctors told him he needed a heart bypass, he declined. 1992 April 20 Mr. Hill died, his death was not found out about until April 22 after Dennis Kirkland called his apartment several times and was not answered.

Poor Bob Todd just a year older then Benny and looked much older, died only several months after Benny did. He too was a heavy drinker...

@tripjet999 Smoking had nothing to do with his death...bad eating and drinking habits did...especially after he was fired from Thames TV...he began to eat and drink more and it went unchecked for two years before his death...

@thebennyhillchannel On April 22, 1992, after several days of unanswered telephone calls, his producer friend, Dennis Kirkland, climbed a ladder to the balcony of Hill's 3rd floor apartment and upon seeing the body through a window had the neighbors call the police. The police broke into the apartment and found Hill, dead, sitting in his armchair in front of the television. Hill's cause of death was recorded as coronary thrombosis.[

I never saw this TV special all the way through - just parts of it. He was funny even at the end of his career. Antenna TV station - Friday and Saturday nights his show is still on here in the US. Almost 20 yrs after his death and he is still on TV - Incredible! That is staying power..........
