I know the 1ZZ-FE doesn't have lift, but you can hear the cams start opening the intake valves a little sooner at around 4500 rpm in my Celica. I can hear it in this vid too. I know it's not really "lift", but it makes me feel better. :D

VVT-i is the engine type. ur thinknig of "lift", which is only in the VVTL-i engines which comes stock in the GT-S models.
