About The Civil War Uncovered TV series
You will be brought right into the field with our crew as they seek remnants of the American Civil War. The series follows the adventures of dedicated relic hunters and history enthusiasts as they uncover Civil War artifacts that have not seen the light of day for 150 years. Our searches are conducted only on private property with the permission and participation of the landowners. And ALL relics are returned to the landowner.
Our quest is to expose the realities of life as it was for thousands of Americans who struggled in epic battles, and who endured harsh climatic conditions living in the open for months at a time. The items we find remind us the war was fought by regular people on an individual level. We are assisted in our interpretations by modern Civil War Reenactors.
We use the most advanced metal detectors as we examine land that has often been hunted many times in the past 50 years. But with the latest technology these same properties offer up objects that those old metal detectors missed!
Our crew consists of veteran metal detectorists with decades of experience, and also members who have hunted for a few years and to those who are just starting in the hobby. You will watch as the old hands teach the younger detectorists better techniques. And in each episode we will have formal technical tips from Kevin Hoagland, Minelab Americas premier trainer.
New episodes will be released monthly.

I sure do like this video from both a historical viewpoint and the viewpoint of the relic hunters who are saving America's treasured past. Not focusing on the high value artifacts but instead on the common everyday items soldiers frequently lost, is a refreshing lesson in history not typically offered.
