Mistake! At 1:03 it says, "The umpire scrutinizes every delivery of Larwood's for a no-ball . . ." and cuts to a shot of Oldfield getting skulled by a Larwood bouncer. Problem is, the bowler shown is not Larwood but Gubby Allen. Allen didn't hit Oldfield, Larwood did. Some careless editing from the producers of this documentary.
The irony is that Allen, an Aussie ex-pat playing for England, REFUSED to bowl bodyline at any time during the series. He'd be rolling over in his grave, I think.
