Dyson vs Kirby - brush roll cleaning

I can see why the average person buys a dyson, its cuz the advertising, sad part is, that's what you pay for with a dyson ball for instance, a 50 dollar vac that does a 50 dollar job the other $400 you paid was for its advertising. you already had a kirby then wasted an extra $450 on the dyson cuz you had NO IDEA that the dyson destroys your carpet, dosen't have 1/4th the suction of the kirby and that you were throwing your money away. That's old kirby works way better than ur dyson ever could.

See that? Kirbys are obsolete. There is nothing new with newer Kirby models AT ALL. Dyson has been up-to-date with every new model they come out with.

As far as emptying it often, doesn't that just mean its cleaning your carpet good and is picking up a lot of crap?, i would be more worried if i DIDN'T have to empty it often...a lot of the bickering over brand loyalty can be resolved if you just use common sense and look at the facts

@kegskius: let me tell you something...I am a proud Kirby owner with nothing but trouble free operation for the past 19 years! now if you think a dyson is better for you then fine but don't put down kirby because they make a mighty fine vacuum!

If you oil the hooks that hold the bottom plate on on the Kirby it makes them alot easier to mover

@Xtracik807 I have a cleaning service and Dysons brush needs constant cleaning or it just freezes up .. The canister always needs cleaning (doesn't hold much) so when I'm at a clients house sometimes emptying it 3 or four times a house this is time consuming and nasty (got to be done outside) Kirbys have a HEPA filter bag option I can do three to 6 homes before throwing the bag out clean and easy and I don't have to leave dirt at a customers home (very hard to take the Dysons mess with ya)
I keep hearing about kirbys having to be tuned up. what do they do. i bought mine used. it works great. i change bags often and keep it clean. what else do you have to do to them?

@smithdsmit I imagine they clean them out - the motor, maybe oil it. They probably change the belts and maybe the brush roller, but I think it's more mechanical. Like a car. We've had it done a few times and it seems to help somewhat...

im looking up reviews to find a great vacuum and i noticed that there is a bunch of dyson haters on youtube. so i want to know why. correct me if im wrong but why would you want a vacuum with a bag? isn't it incovenient and tedious having to always buy and change bags? and in many videos i've seen, the dyson works great so why kirby or any other brand? and why do people go crazy over kirby and resort to swearing (jcal5150)?

It's really a toss-up for me. With the Dyson, i love not having to buy vacuum bags but i do have the empty the canister numerous times while vacuuming. Bags simply hold more. I save a lot of money not buying bags. Some people say that they don't like bagless because emptying the dirt causes it to go back up into the air. I don't really notice that problem unless I use a very full garbage bag to empty it into.
The Dyson is a great vacuum!

I actually crash into things all the time and haven't had a problem. I mean, I don't like race it against the dog and go 60 MPH into anything....just normal usage stuff.
