about the lag, it was probably crappy programming. the screen was always doing weird crap. status bar disappearing, stuff flashing, and generally just stuff that doesn't even happen in any other game.

this game was amazing. talk about stressing out the fragile NES processor. This is one of the only games i know that would actually lag the game from having too much shit jumping around on the screen. the music was also superlative, and game play was amazing. there was this one jump I could never complete, but me and my friend don beat it after drinking a lot of chimay one night in his apartment.
