This is a nightly routine for me. My daughter will wake up after a couple of sleep EVERY night, and scream like this... usually for hours at a time. Any ideas as to WHY she would be doing this at almost three years old? Any feedback is welcome.

Thanks.

  • This is called a Night Terror. Don't interfere with them when they are having one, this makes the experience worse, and I understand that you want to, but don't.

Take her to a psychologist as well. I hope this helps.

  • my daughter does almost the exact same thing omg its the worst thing ever!!!

  • @Godisgreat3 How would that help?

  • @hellfighter1100 i hope you get cancer and die

  • This is 2012 how is your daughter doing now? God bless her soul. I heard putting a pot of water under her bed helps. It won't hurt to try.

  • I had those as a child, it's so scary for a parent to see a child go through this, but it's best to just make sure she's safe and don't interrupt it, that could make it worse.

  • i just learned about this in my psychology class. best thing to do is leave her alone while she is having them no matter how much you want to help. and figure out what time every night she is having these then about fifteen minutes before she would be having one gently wake her and get her a drink of water. another simple way is sing her a couple lullabies before she goes to bed. dont tell her she is having them or she will start worrying about them and they could potentially get worse.

  • your a great mom. God bless you and your beautiful family.

  • Looks just like my daughter, soon 3yr. Just found out she has Night Terror. This situation happens in the deepest state of sleep! Can you believe that. They are sleeping deeply. Google Night Terror and you can find different websites that explains it very well.

  • Stop feeding her junk food like fried wings an chicken nuggets and potato chips and soda. Those foods will only drained water and life out of her. I know because I've experienced this when I was young; I found the answer the hard way. Just like her, she looks like she's awake, she is really dreaming a bad dream thanks to junk food before bedtime hope this helps

  • ha ha ha. scream fag.scream till your dead.
