  • I'm turning you in for painting the street without a permit!

  • @emissman - quiet troublemaker

  • Saw this. Overheard a very Portlandia moment. One busy looking dude just came out of his house with a friend and jumped into his car. Some neighbor dude ran over, stuck his head in their car window, and asked him if he had checked the painting out. Busy guy said "Not yet." They looked eager to get going. Neighbor dude says "Lame. You should check it out since you are part of this community." Poor guy was guilt tripped into checking it out. They walked over. Looked it over. Drove away. Portlandia

  • I drove by your sign the other day and had to come for a closer look. I'm at 23rd and Emerson. I wonder whats involved in one of these?

  • @emissman Actually, they were permitted through City Repair's Placemaking process for free!

  • Very cool..Salem is jealous.

  • rode past this yesterday on our way to the cafe.... thank you for making our city even more special!!!!!

  • Um, what's up with the dead dog at 2:48? Are you sure you used non-toxic paint? The title of the video is so a misnomer. What sort of repair went on here? It's a beautification if anything and even that is questionable. I does seem as though it built community. Kudos for that if nothing else.

  • @Radison1337 Takes a lot of hard work, meetings, permits, and volunteers. Contact City Repair for all the info, including legalities.

  • @emissman-Can't tell if you are being sarcastic, but if you are being serious. We actually have a permit from the city and they support us!

  • Coolio..Wonder can I get them to come over and paint my house :-D

  • Go Ahead emissman. They had a permit, though it probably would have been a lot more fun trying to do it without one!
