A DMC patient with urinary stress incontinence regains control with less-invasive surgery at DMC Sinai-Grace, performed by DMC Ob/Gyn specialist Dr. Korial Atty. ~ Detroit Medical Center
I just had this surgery and was released from day surgery after 5 hours. I experienced pain in the groin area or the upper thighs which was treated with two Tylenol 3s. At a pre-operative consultation meeting a week prior to surgery I was trained to self-catheterize in case it was necessary after surgery. I was one of those who had to do it at home - only a few times until the residual was < 1oz. Pain in legs has lasted longer - 5 days now. No sex, swimming or exer for 4 wks.Good Luck.
Well be prepared, I had to go home with a Catheter and had to leave it on for 1 week, 2nd week I have to Cath myself 2-3 times a day, I am hoping this will improve, my Dr. thinks it maybe on to tight and they will need to go back in to loosen it, but at the end, I am hoping I will be very happy with this, as I am a very active 53 year old who runs 1/2 marathons and goes dancing very often.
I'm actually having this surgery tomorrow morning. They told me 2-3 days off my feet and 6 weeks before I can return to normal sexual activity. Doc said that the 6 weeks no sex was to allow the incision to heal up completely but that I could even go swimming after 3 or 4 days. I'm hoping it goes as well for me as it went for this lovely lady.
It says she was back to work in 2-3 days? I am having it and was told to take 4-6 weeks off? I am having the tot sling procedure. please let me know as I would like to hear if this was true
