This is a promo for the documentary entitled "21 Against the Odds". We began filming in 1985 seeking to examine why students in NYC were dropping out of the system at such alarming rates. We selected a diverse cross section of 21 students to be interviewed, all in certain danger of leaving school. We also talked to prominent politicians, including Mayor Koch and then Borough President David Dinkins, as well as academics and educational professionals of the day in search of answers. We hope to revive this project, updating the program in a time and educational climate not too different from 20 years ago. We would appreciate your comments and look forward to hearing what you think about the topic in general and the film specifically.

Would be cool to do a followup of those students, where they are now and what they think of dropping out.
