Invited speakers included Michael Roth, President of Wesleyan University, President and CEO of PPSNE Judy Tabar, President of Planned Parenthood Cecile Richards and our U.S. Senator Richard Blumenthal. Elected officials who were not able to attend but wrote statements of support for the work our college students are doing and in support of Planned Parenthood were Governor Dannel Malloy, Lt. Governor Nancy Wyman and Representative Rosa DeLauro. Student, Alex Ketchum, shared her personal story of being a Planned Parenthood patient and what Planned Parenthood means to her and her family. Campus Action Intern Susanna Banks , speaking for herself and the other students organizers responsible for the success of the event stated, " I think it's important to show our government's leadership that this is an issue that young people care about, and as college students we have the unique resources and opportunities to make an event like this happen. I have been excited by the positive student response on campus and the support and excitement of leaders in the fight for women's health."
