Never seen this. I'm a lover of great hymns.
Personally, I don't think anything is added to them by mechanical instruments.
It actually detracts. (clatter, bang, tinkle)

Lowell Mason, who wrote the tune for the Christmas song "Joy to the World" in 1836, may have been America's greatest composer of the nineteenth century.
It is said that a Confederate army band played "Nearer, My God, to Thee" on the battlefield at Gettysburg.
Incidentally, "San Francisco" is my favorite disaster film of all time.
