B. impatiens queen

Found this B. impatiens queen and her mate in the woods. after they separated i decided to keep the queen and try to get her to start a nest in the spring. she has been returning underneath the dryer lint to sleep everynight, and this is going to be the place where she will hibernate

  • Now it's early late January, has the queen come out of hibernating? Did she survive?

    Can we have an update please?

  • Queen is still currently hibernating. They don't usualy come out of hibernation till March, in my area. Its still really cold here

    I think I will wake her around late February, though, and keep her in my house. I'll let you know when I do

  • I am making bumble bee houses and didn't know if lint, that had fabric softener was ok. So i didn't use lint.
