Bruno Morais has a will. It's that you just feel it. Be it the will to go on or the will to change, butterflies-in-your-stomach or shivers-down-your-spine, it's all in what he suggests, what you get, where it takes you. His new record, A Vontade Superstar, is a praise for everyone who ever wanted something, and a praise for the very specific feeling of wanting something. Recorded over the last couple of years, in many different places and with around 40 different collaborators, the album is a quiet stunner in its subtleness - a peaceful and assured record, with a permanent feeling of amazement.

With the melodies he invokes, in the delicacy of his lyrics, through and the tone down approach of his voice, Bruno creates worlds and tells stories to speak about love and dreamful thoughts of the fantastic. Constantly singing close to the mic and closer to our ears, he's done one headphone masterpiece, filled with little mixing earcandies and instruments and sounds like juno, banjo, clavinet, wurlitzer, cornets, euphonium, casiotone, tuba, steps, beats, brass, thick basses, guitar licks and all sorts of sounds.

You may hear a soft samba gone dub, a psychedelic funky groove or a jazz-folk song. Everything, really, in between a marching jazz band from New Orleans and a rough samba singer from the favela, which included Jamaican vocalists, funk styles and old school electronics. Putting together a mosaic of different partners to create some ingenious arrangements for his songs, he gathered contemporary soundmeisters from the Globe, like Brooklyn's XXXChange (Spank Rock), New Zealand's Tony Chang (Fat Freddy's Drop), Seattle's Vitamin D, or his own São Paulo's Guizado, Blubell, Guilherme Kastrup, Mauricio Fleury and many others.

In the last five years, Bruno's been singing, playing and recording in São Paulo, New York, Chicago, Seattle, Mexico, Portland and anywhere he can find interested and interesting people to listen or to work with. He's been to the Red Bull Music Academy (where he got the attention of and co-wrote a song with Leon Ware) and he also produced/recorded with many friends in various styles of music.

Bruno Morais is a brazilian singer, composer and producer and A Vontade Superstar (or The Will Superstar) is his second record.
