What I would really like to find is a top secret hot spring in the mountain somewhere that you can get into and take a soak for free and not have to pay a bathhouse.

Goat Rock is awesome. It's a nice private place to meditate. I also hiked the Dead Chief trail before and he's right, it comes out on the Grand Promenade on Bathhouse Row behind the Fordyce bathhouse. Once I hiked from gulpha gorge trail - HSM trail - upper dogwood - lower dogwood - arlington trail - and it came out at the arlington hotel's swimming pool and hot tub area. We could've gotten right in, but we didn't.
