Political studies professor Jared Wesley offers some explanation on why young Canadians traditionally don't get out to vote as often as older Canadians.

As a member of the Canadian youth, I hate voting because I think it's a waste of time. My riding will always be liberal, always has been. If we had proportional representation rather than a first-past-the-post system, I might actually think voting was worthwhile. Additionally, at least this time around, I am not even remotely impressed by any of the potential leaders.
