Watch Herbert Puchta demonstrate the use of chants to learn vocabulary with a class of young learners. The material is taken from Playway Second edition, a four-level English Language course for children. Find out more at www.cambridge.org/elt/playway
@lmertz100 Oh, yes, most definitely! It really helped me learn English, especially because of all the pictures, chants, songs and plays. They were always fun to listen to and then sing them. My favorite songs were in Playway to English 4 - the one about the castle and the one about the raccoon in my room.^_^

The chant is on Unit 4, Animals, in case I didn't mention that on my previous post.

At the beginning of this video, Mr Puchta (who co-wrote the chants with Gunter Gerngrosss and Franz Maierhöfer) was reciting, in slow motion, what I consider my favourite chant from PLAYWAY To English Level 1. It's called "What's this?" and it's found on the new edition on CD 2 of 3 of the audio program, tracks 3 and 4, page 23, exercise 1 of the Pupils Book. So, if you like, you can follow along with the CD version, which is a bit fasther than Mr Puchta's recited version.
