The appalling tide of abandoned and dumped greyhounds continues as yet another greyhound has been found in a near to death state less than 3 weeks after Rusty was found at Grimsby docks, curled up and waiting to die whilst being eaten away with maggots.
Bleu, a two year old male, had been thrown over an 8ft fence into enclosed wasteland and was lucky to be found after two or three months, by a passing couple from Kirkcaldy in Scotland. Emaciated, dehydrated and flea ridden the couple took Bleu to Langdyke Boarding kennels near Kennoway in Fife, where he is very slowly recovering.
Kennel owner Sylvia Pass said When he was bought here, he had a 50/50 chance of survival. He has no muscle, no flesh. If he lay on his side and shut his eyes you would think he had been dead for a couple of weeks, hes that bad
Bleu did not break any bones but damaged his left shoulder and medical treatment since his rescue has increased Bleu's chances of survival.
Ms Pass added: "I would give Bleu a 75% chance of surviving now after being just days from death."

Thank God for this rescue. There is absolutely no excuse for this - I feel absolutely sickened when I hear over and over again such stories. The only thing that should be done is 1: stop greyhound racing 2: do not allow breeding for the purpose of racing 3: that each dog retired be brought to a sanctuary where they can be helped and adopted into safe and forever homes. Time for our country to pull our socks up when it comes to the welfare of all animals - no matter what their job is in life !

Thank you for sharing Bleu's story, I'm so glad this poor neglected dog is safe. Everyone must be their voice until all are safe.

This is so heartbreaking and I'll never understand how anyone could treat an innocent being in such a horrible way.

That video is so sad and a reminder just how cruel humans can be to poor, defenseless animals...The people responsible for this mistreatment need to be punished to the fullest extent of the law...Dog and horse racing as a spectator sport should be banned all over the world......Thank you, Tony, for sharing this video with all of us that love animals...Maybe, just maybe, there will be more heartwarming stories in the very near future. People like you and lony are truly angels. Judy

Thanks for showing the abomination called humans. Greedy humans. When will they learn. I'm sure not until there are stiffer laws and punishments to the people who think it's alright to throw these beautiful animals away like garbage. Shame on them and on anyone who thinks it's ok to exploit an animal of any kind.

Thanks for sharing... how sad is the human race to allow this to happen in the first place... I am so happy to see his new caregivers, what beautiful human beings...we definitely need to raise awareness and realise that they truly are not much different than us... they see, they hear, they feel, they love, they eat, they enjoy, and they as all beings... feel pain. Animals are not ours to abuse or use.
