  • Alright folks. Got myself an irish staff a few months back and never knew they had pit in them. The thing is he has his papers and is kc reg how is this possible if theres pit in him?

  • @88tclint are the parents to ur dog kc reg?? if they both are then so is ur dog! look at the generation papers, this will help.

  • Nice dog mate, I have had my irish for 7 months now from a pup . She is scared, of water tho unlike yours. The only thing i'm having trouble with is she always runs after people on bikes.. Any tips would be great !! Thanks.

  • @TheTopman21 ur bitch will get used to water over time, shes still young mate, dont force her into it, just temp her to paddle a little by edging her closer with a stick, as for chasing bikes!! lol a firm hand never hurt anyone, she has to no shes doing wrong so using the lead jently wip her bum, they usually hate that, be angry with her becouse she will sense it, and she will start to listen as the breed loves nothing more than to make you happy!!!

  • Are irish blue's pit buls then?

  • @lukedainty87 google irish staffs! they are not always pitts, or should i say they dont always carry bull blood, but then again what is a pitt??? any dog capable of fighting in a pitt with another dog? technicaly you could say most terriers are as they were once pitted against each other,

  • mate i seen an irish staff for sale, its 5months old.

do you think that he would be good and listen to me. i have had many dogs such as rottis in the past but never this breed. any info would be helpful.

    thank you

  • Yes they are mate it's all on the Direct.Gov website every breed that's banned in the UK.

    Ireland have different rules.

  • @gellamangrime they are aint they

  • @welshbeauty100 you are right about the stick part but being patient and positive with your dog is always best a don't believe in firm hand my red pitbull is really intelligent i have never struck her she loves the water and is so confident my pal has the mother to my dog and she cowers down because he whipped her with lead only gentle but it never works

  • @TheTopman21 temp with a stick and as for chasing bike firmly pull her lead to the side and say no to your dog don't hit or yell at her it wont work it will turn your dog in to a big pain in the arse.. she will cower down to you all the time if you yell and whip her on arse

  • Lovely dog ! I've got a blue he loves the water to !

  • I'm also welsh and from Wales

  • Don't take my word for it check out the .Gov web page your self where it clearly states they are banned in Wales England Scotland.

  • @gellamangrime That is total BS! Irish Staffs are neither Pitdogs or banned

  • Staffs do come in blue Irish Staffs are a pit dog and they are banned in the uk for this reason
