Goth: A Culture Study

This is the intro to my Foundations of Youth Ministry class study on youth subcultures. We ended up doing goth and this is the kick-off video we used for our seminar. As a note due to a lot of comments, this is NOT what I exclusively belive Goth to be. This was merely made so that we could use it as a visual aid of how Goth is portrayed in the media. The presentation and Q&A lasted upward of 45 minutes and involved a large amount of research. None of this in any way is intended to be offensive and stereotypical, I was just asked by classmates to host the video.

No offense, but the goth kids themselves fuss about being linked with the vampire fad, I saw at least 3 different vampires. Spike, Angel, and Blade aren't goths. I love the song, & I love most of the show/movies in this vid, but it isn't thegothic culture at all. I'm not gothic, but I think it would be an insult to those that are if you link everything in a leather jacket near blood with goths.

@Mumzzen oh dear, arent we cranky? when you refer to something and call that something to be goth that means only and yes i say only the 80s goth rock music, you see, cranky-girl, there is a difference between goth and gothic (which you obviously do not know, or your almighty God- the internet hasnt told you). oh yes i do not possess the habit to check on peoples gender, i find it quite irrelevant but if it bothers you so much then i am sorry. ok i ll let you now to enjoy in your goth(ic) mind.
