Tibet was a country the size of Western Europe when it was invaded by Communist China in 1950. Since the Chinese occupation began, large portions of the country have been absorbed into provinces of the People's Republic of China.

Tibet's culture, religion and resources have been under systematic assault by the Communist Chinese government for decades. During this time, 6000 Buddhist monasteries were destroyed along with the centuries of knowledge they contained and hundreds of thousands of Tibetans have been executed, imprisoned and tortured for the "crime" of not wanting to be Chinese.

YETI The mighty Himalayan man, is a myth now. Tibet as a free nation and the existence of Tibetans as the rightful people of Tibet is being made into a myth by the Communist Chinese government. YETI is a symbol of hope for all Tibetans, praying to become the Mighty Himalayan Spiritual Nation once again. It's the story of Tibetans born in India, living a dream of going back to their free country one day.

YETI is a film set in the backdrop of Mcleodganj, which is the Tibetan capital in exile and is called "the little Lhasa of India". It depicts the angst and anger inside Tibetans, who are peacefully trying to get their country as well as their human rights back with support from people all over the world. It is a film on Tibetans in exile and their cry for freedom in modern times, when greed and aggression is ruling the world.

YETI rouses your curiosity on why democratic countries are not seriously intervening in the Tibetan issue like they did in Iraq and Afghanistan. It makes you think whether the spiritual and peace loving Tibetans will eventually take the violent path and create unrest in a region which until now has been more peaceful then the rest of the world.

YETI shows you how Tibetans look at the Olympic Games in Beijing as their best chance in 49 years, when the international media is closely following the happenings in Communist China where the human rights situation is at its worst. It's a provoking visual documentary on Tibet, Tibetans and the worst possible steps they might resort to, such as self sacrificing monks blowing themselves up just for the sake of freedom and peace
