IT's also a little different on machines like a Linux EEE. All the hardware will work with it, and for the most part most printers shouldn't be so hard to get working.
Safe is only because Linux and each of its distros have so little market share that no one codes viruses or malware for it.

That's why I stopped using linux. It's safe but it costs you time too

It has little to do with linux though, compatiblity is on the shoulders of companies and because not so many people use Linux we get less support then any other. Not to mention there are to many distros but thats okay to an extent.
Really if we had the numbers of say Mac on market share then we would get support too. But for now we must make our own content/fixes.

Actually I dont, I used to be quite the linux freak until a few years ago. Linux is only well respected and operated in the server world, but then again, which Server OS isn't :)

You know very little about linux don't you?

lol Linux is so forgotten and incompatilbe with so many things people now take for granted int he computer world, it seems it's mac the one that's been rising more and more instead of it. Windows still stays king, hated the days when I used ubunto after being a windows user, no games, had to download lots of drivers all the time, lotta programs I was used to using forget about'em.
Thank god just about 1 out of 10 users use linux.

You can buy an Eee with Linux preloaded.
