ok so if you know me then you know how good i am at drawing trees
a lot of people were saying to me," man i wish i could draw like that" or "wow how do you make it look so realistic"

really its not a hard thing to do. in fact, drawing trees is the easiest thing for me!
this is a great exercise for beggining artists who want to develop their hatching and shading techniques
but it may not come naturally, so practice makes perfect!!

so this is my secret to drawing trees!!
enjoy!

oh and ill post a video on more techniques with charcoal like chiaroscuro effects and hatching (even though im awful at it)

my next video tutorial is probably going to be how to do this with inks (which is my favorite medium for drawing trees!!)

oh and if you like my tutorials then comment/subscribe!!

  • dude...u seem talented n cute...u oz??

  • @babelbabe9 umm do u mean oc?

    cuz thats a no

    i live in FL :(

    but thanks for the complimentt

  • @ Th3Countryboy

When I draw foliage with charcoal I just do light scuffles, but when using inks I use either scuffling or cross-hatching

It depends on what kind of mood I'm in lol

  • Sad that people think this is how you work with charcoal.

You don't mess with charcoal pencils, you used compressed charcoal. It looks like painting.

  • @southclark im not clear as to what ur saying

if your saying that i used compressed charcoal instead of charcoal pencils then ok, im not even 18, and ive had no art classes where we used multiple art mediums like charcoal, chalks, etc.

if your saying that charcoal is like painting, then yes it is, i actually use a brush to blend and remove the charcoal

if you want i can show you my skill with charcoal

but ive had no training what so ever, mind you

  • @craigery487 i accidentally deleted the part after "if your saying that i used compressed charcoal instead of charcoal pencils then ok"

i meant to say after that:

it seems like it would be understood that charcoal pencils would be compressed charcoal

but if you would like for me to show you my skills with vine charcoal then ok

also, i dont think charcoal looks like painting... it depends

and i said in the very beginning that you can use whatever medium you want, i just like the look of charcoal
