to the non believers... i am a firm believer in the AMAZING powers of saw palmetto. it might sound like snake oil... but all the men in my family used to have prostate problems (also cancer) and now take saw palmetto with LIFE CHANGING RESULTS. its also like a natural viagra!! increased libido. i fell 10 years younger... so does my wife! ;-). in the uk i order it from starchild essential oils, in glastonbury. (i dont work for them, im just a very happy customer)

Fascinating! Thank you (Saw this on Herb Mentor). We don't have palmetto in my neck of the woods, but still, I love how you've woven history into it's story. You can bet I'll never forget it now!
I think if the Tree or palm has thorns then its not wanting you to eat it ,which means to me I Can eat it

The description (minus the peppery flavor) sounds like durian fruit which I love...have you had this fruit? Thanks for the video!

Wow - great coverage of this plant. Love the history you bring in. Expectation has a lot to do with experience of flavor - we don't expect those flavors in a fruit or plant product but I have to admit I want to try one now. I have heard of durian? Another fruit with a very different flavor spectrum - one I have little desire to ever try....

@ScottfromTexas Thanks. The saw palmetto is both familiar and strange at the same time. As for durian... you either like it or hate it.
