DJ VanderLey vs. Grant Enfinger

Darren "DJ" VanderLey (@DJVanderLey) hunts down Grant Enfinger (@GrantEnfinger) and retaliates for an incident which occured on lap 97 of 100 in the Papa John's 100 at Five Flags Speedway in Pensacola, FL where Enfinger deliberately turned VanderLey. The incident stemmed from a previous incident early in the race where VanderLey spun Enfinger after Enfiger made an agressive pass on him. In the end, neither driver finished the race.

From what I saw of the incident with Garvey, it was DJ who should've been mad. He tried to pass Garvey cleanly inside and out. Garvey chopped him off on the inside pass, nearly forced him off the high side down the backstretch while DJ tried to pass him on the outside. He made incidental contact with Garvey at one point but I don't think DJ was at fault there. In fact, he was alot more hotheaded on the radio that night and wound up with a wrecked car and didn't retaliate. Total opposite of this.

@Judson86 Enfinger hit everything on the track. I dont work for Daren but i will defend him in this. The whole race should have been posted.

I agree Grant was not innocent by any means but I wasn't filming the entire race. I was listening to VanderLey's team on the scanner and as soon as Grant dumped him I knew something was about to go down. I would love to show the earlier incident as well, it would paint a more fair picture but the fact is when you do something like this under caution it is always going to get the responses that you see in the comments.

Enfinger spun VanderLey with three to go in retaliation for an incident between the two much earlier in the race when VanderLey spun Enfinger for a rough pass. Both times the spins looked intentional to me.

What a pussy, using his car as a weapon then running off. I dont care what transpired prior to this, you dont act like an idiot, start something like that, then take off running when the other guy is coming for you. Stand up and be a man if your going to start something like that. Not to mention the damage that could have been caused to other drivers who have nothing to do with this.

I raced with Grant for many years. Always a clean driver and always a polite guy. What happens under green happens under green but to pull some chicken bull like this under yellow is cheap and punk.

What caused this is irrelevant. Doing stupid shit like this could get someone seriously hurt, not that DJ or anyone else defending him gives a shit. Yes it's apparent that DJ is a little bitch. I'd hide and delete my facebook too. I wouldn't show up at another track if I were him,

Grant's a friend of mine and is on my facebook friends list. The only thing he's posted is that he was disappointed and embarrassed to be involved in this incident, but that he was ok and hadn't pressed charges as had been reported. I spoke with Grant's car owners at BRG Motorsports, who are also friends of mine, and they expressed similar sentiments.  They're fixing the car, DJ has been penalized, and life goes on. The people involved have handled it; it's done. Please, take your own advice.

i'm not really in to racing.. i think it's just a waste of gas but whatever. i would like to say this... before you speak, make sure you know the WHOLE story. from what i've heard, the grant dude has been posting stuff about dj all over facebook (he'll probably start deleting all of that now). so obviously, these two have had a hell of a lot more issues than some of you people even know about. so please, stfu unless you know what you're talking about.

guy hitting everybody or not it's stupid to take out other cars cause you got "used" up. deal with it after the race and for gods sake don't use your car as a weapon. coming from a former crew member I hated when my driver did this. I got to the point where I wouldn't work on the damage from driver using their cars as a battering ram. heck pop the guy mouth in the pits or smack your toolbox
