I wouldn't trade growing up in this time period for anything. I have always valued my childhood and this version of Sesame Street was a big part of it.

I always think of the "color wheel chart" in art class myself!

Hence my logic for avoiding the show completely. The adults often gave me SO much crap for being a "little kid afraid of Sesame Street", but isn't my logic quite sound for someone of my age to avoid the worst part of it? I love this now, but honestly I think Phillip Glass should have put this in a college-age avant garde show. This is not suitable for many small children. The sudden shock was worse than the skit itself. The show gave NO warning for it, hence my avoiding it totally.

The sudden shock is the worst part of it! One time when I was in college, I was home and Noggin was still a 24-hour network that played Sesame Street Unpaved late at night. I had it on one night and one of these clips came on, and I froze up and blocked my ears even though I was like 20. But I'm a total Muppets nerd, so when I got the Sesame Street 40th anniversary dvd with one of these clips on it, I made myself watch it. But I think I'd still jump at first if I heard it unexpectedly.
